  • Chef Emily Hahn brings a combination of culinary education, training, and experience to her comfort food creations for Common House. A 2007 New England Culinary Institute (NECI) graduate, Chef Hahn started in Richmond, Virginia at the popular Italian eatery, Mama Zu where Ed Vasio introduced her to the delicious basics of cooking with fresh vegetables, meat, and fish, served up family style. Chef Hahn moved to Charleston, SC, where she interned with Chef Mike Lata, owner of Fig Restaurant a three time James Beard nominee and winner of 2009. After serving in a number of kitchen positions at FIG, Hahn moved to Monza, where she created fresh pizzas and unique desserts for this favorite city restaurant. While at Monza, Hahn also helped create the menu for Raval, a tapas bar and restaurant also a popular night spot in Charleston.
    At Common House, Chef Hahn incorporates fresh and natural ingredients to provide delicious comfort food favorites, often with interesting flavor twists. Hahn knows that consistency of quality is key to all she prepares for Common House. She, too, welcomes everyone in the neighborhood as well as out of towners to Common House!
